Description

This is a great spot and stalk hunt in North Central Colorado for big black bears. This is a 3 day 2:1 hunt with options to upgrade to a 1:1 hunt. The September bear season is an easy to draw rifle tag. Outfitter will provide guidance on acquiring the tag to all booked hunters. If you don’t apply before the deadline there is always leftover tags for purchase. Archery tags are over the counter. Outfitter has an abundant bear population that is accessible during September. On rifle hunts we average above 90% shot opportunity. Archery is around 60%. These hunts will take place at elevations between 8,500-11,500. This is a unique spot-and-stalk. Horseback riding, hiking or 4x4s will be used for transportation. These hunts are conducted from a high-end lodge.

        *All hunts include skinning and quartering of the bear. Outfitters do offer a rug add-on service that includes the fleshing, turning, salting of hide, and completed rug. We charge $210 per foot and shipping. Most bears will run a total of $800-$1,400. **We offer a euro skull add-on for $275 plus shipping. ***Non-resident bear licenses are $100 and are not included in the hunt price above. ****Hunts are over once a bear has been harvested. If tags are available, hunters can continue to hunt a 2nd bear for $1,200.

        Refund Policy:

        Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

        Description

        Daylight departure via horses. Ride 30mins up to 1.5 hrs to glassing spot that gives good vantage to see bear feed sources (berries or oakbrush/acorns, depending on the year). Spend 2-3 hours glassing and stalking. Lunch on mountain or back at lodge. Back to glassing 2-3hrs before dark for the afternoon hunt. 30% of our bears are harvested in the morning, 70% in the last two hours of daylight.

        Description

        Hunter should be prepared for a long days in the field in some inclement weather on steep and rocky terrain. Depending on what season is drawn, hunting clothing should be moderate to heavy-layering systems recommended. Comfortable and durable hiking boots a must. Full gear list will be provided when booked from outfitter.
