Description
This is an amazing opportunity to hunt free range Gredos Ibex in Spain! The hunt takes place on private hunting concessions, from 11,000-25,000 private acres. These properties are highly regulated and well managed. Hunters can expect to see a large number of Ibex every day on this breathtaking landscape. This is a 3 day/3 night fully guided hunt. Hunter will have 2-3 guides for this hunt. Lodging will be provided as a refurbished 16th century Spanish cabin/stone lodge right on the hunting property. A private cook is hired to serve you authentic Spanish cuisine and the accommodations are fully staffed. Hunters fly into Madrid, and drive NW, 1 to 2 hours to the Gredos region. Hunters may choose to conduct this hunt on horseback for no extra charge if desired, but most people walk. Gredos Ibex are the largest and most expensive of the 4 Spanish Ibex. They have a horn shape similar to a swept back Harley handlebar and are quite black in color compared to the other Spanish Ibex.

Description
Often times hunters will combine the Gredos Ibex with a Becite as they are more near than the Southeastern and Ronda Varieties which are in the southern part of Spain. The hunting season runs from October through May. These ibex rut in Nov and December but most months provide high success hunting. The best skins are late October through early January and the nicest weather is Oct, early November and the spring (later March through may). Spanish Ibex hunting is not difficult compared to Mid Asian or Himalayan Ibex as the elevations are reglatively low and the Ibex are quite plentiful, but it is still a mountain Hunt and hunters need to be prepared to hike in rocky/mountainous terrain and shoot over 300 yards. Most ibex shot are 8.5 to 14.5 years old. The largest animals are considerably more $ cost than a representative animal.
