Description
Early spring finds hunts produces many large bears to bait sites. As the snow recedes, outfitter will start packing in bait on horses and mules. As the season progresses, hunter will ride farther and higher into the backcountry where there are many opportunities to hunt remote and non-motorized areas. Hunter will hunt both Grey's River, Jackson and Bighorn Mountain. This gives plenty of opportunity to explore a lot of area and opportunity than any other outfitter in Wyoming. This is a 7 day hunt for 1 hunter. Additional hunters may join for additional cost. Hunt is spot and stalk and on horseback. Later season hunts may utilize spike camps (backpacking tents) to get into bait camps and wait for large boars. Hunters can expect to spend 3+ hours in the saddle and 1-2 miles of hiking per day.

Description
There are always plenty of active baits for hunters to choose from, at least 3 to 4 per hunter. Baits are stocked midday and hunters go out in the evenings to hunt. Hunters need to be willing to stay mobile and ready to move to new or more active baits if needed. The ability to stay mobile has greatly increased our hunter's success. Color is the rule not the exception with black bear in Western Wyoming. Most Bears are brown, cinnamon, blonde or reddish in color, but hunters do kill a black colored bear on occasion. Spring is a beautiful time of year to spend in Wyoming. Included in your cost of the hunt is lodging and meals, which we have been told are alone are worth the hunt. We hunt both Grey's River, Jackson and Bighorn Mountain quotas, giving us more area and opportunity than any other outfitter in Wyoming. What separates this outfitter from the rest is the remoteness of the country they access where the big bears live. Other outfitters use ATV access to stock baits and hunts, but if there is ATV access to these areas, it means that the general public also has access to these areas. Keep that in mind when booking any bear hunt. This outfitter usually takes some of the biggest bears in the State of Wyoming and have a very high overall success rate.

Transportation (To/From Basecamp)
Outfitter suggests its best to fly into Denver, Colorado and rent a car and drive to lodge. This is roughly a 6 hour drive. Other options are to fly to Rapid City, South Dakota and rent a car to drive. This is about a 3 hour drive. Billings airport can be a challenge to fly into as other hunters have lost had lost luggage or canceled flights.
